My work is grounded in reality while moving beyond conventional landscape or still-life painting through the introduction of quirky, evocative narratives that suggest a subtle sense of anarchy. I typically work in thematic series; the works presented here are from my Dream series, which reflects my conflicted experience of living between urban and rural environments. These paintings explore the emotional and psychological complexity of inhabiting both worlds. Working in oil allows me the freedom to respond intuitively to the evolving image, combining seemingly unrelated elements so that each painting develops its own independent life.
