I am a self-taught mixed-media artist who has recently relocated from Vancouver to Toronto to pursue art full-time. My work often explores the tension and harmony between opposites – a theme rooted in my mixed Japanese and Canadian background – and I strive to show how sharp contrast can come together to create something compelling and beautiful. Working primarily in collage, I hand-rip and cut magazine fragments and assemble them into intricate works, a process that invites viewers to step closer and discover unexpected details within familiar forms.
