I am a self-taught acrylic painter aiming to capture magic and storytelling through paint. My work recognizes atmosphere and the transformative power of imagination using layers, light and deliberate colour relationships. I focus on perceptions of epic narratives that capture our collective imagination, and everyday experiences that turn magical with a little intention.
Working in acrylic allows me to build depth through layering, with each layer adding a new element to the piece. The process blends careful planning and spontaneity, to create a thoughtful composition with unexpected twists.
My priority in telling these tales is keeping the magic. My work stays in a misty, dreamlike state, speckled with hidden details to urge the viewer to see scenes from stories and their own lives with more charm and whimsy.
