My mixed media works are inspired by the dynamic landscapes of Southern Ontario & strive to capture the diverse topography of the region. This ranges from breathtaking vistas of the Escarpment to the unique rock formations of the Canadian Shield.
I focus on subjects like striking cloud formations, arresting tree shapes, vivid fall colours, and reflections in water to create vibrantly coloured landscapes with bold compositions. My goal is to elicit memories and stir emotions in the viewer.
I utilize acrylic ink to create bold colours, then watercolour & charcoal to vary those tones. Often an air brush crafts the underpainting & variegated skies while ink is employed to add definition.
